The University of Houston-Clear Lake Archives and Special Collections is the official University of Houston System institutional repository for official UHCL records, under the UHS Records Retention Schedule. This means that the UHCL Archives receives transfers of institutional and departmental records marked under the UHS retention schedule for the institutional archives, and makes selections of materials that best represent the history and operations of UHCL for long-term preservation.
The UHCL Archives is providing several pages under this header page, for best practices and tips for records management for UHCL offices, departments, administrators, and staff, regarding managing, organizing, and labeling their records. These best practices are taken directly in some cases (and with modification in other cases) from several other university and state archives, having been selected for their clarity and relevance to the needs of UHCL personnel.
