From March to August 2024, the UHCL Libraries 50th Anniversary History Project Team conducted detailed research within the UHCL Archives and Special Collections' university records regarding the history of UHCL Libraries. The goal was to generate a history timeline for key events and developments in the history of the Libraries, as well as to create brief biographies of the past and present Libraries' executive directors. All information found within the "History of UHCL Libraries" was located and verified through multiple archival records. The historical information shared through this LibGuides webpage is intended as a basic introduction to the Libraries' history.

The webpage is arranged by brief history timelines of Libraries history, organized chronologically by decade, and the brief biographies of the Libraries' executive directors. Each of these sections can be located on the left-hand navigation bar of this webpage. Each individual decade and executive director have their own sub-page that can be access through a drop-down menu in the navigation bar. We hope you enjoy learning about the unique history of the UHCL Libraries.
