The mission of the UHCL Libraries Research & Instruction department is to foster academic and lifelong success within the UHCL community through the development of information literacy, critical thinking, and research skills.
Librarians can support faculty teaching efforts in a variety of ways:
Library instruction sessions teach students research strategies and effective use of information resources. Librarians tailor instruction sessions to a course's specific subjects, assignments, and learning outcomes. In-person and online instruction sessions are available.
Librarians can create research guides for specific courses. Course guides are tailored to a course’s syllabus and assignments, and guide students in the use of relevant research resources. Course guides can be linked to directly from Canvas courses.

Library modules for undergraduate and graduate classes can be downloaded and added to Canvas courses. Directions for adding library modules can be viewed at Library Resources in Canvas.
Embedded librarians are added to a Canvas course under a custom “Librarian role”. Embedded librarians can add a customizable Canvas module to the course that can include the following:
