Services for Faculty

Items from Other UH Libraries

UHCL students, faculty, staff, and Affiliate Borrowers may request items from other libraries in the University of Houston system.  Requested items will be transferred to your campus of choice via courier service.

UHCL students, faculty, and staff may also use their university ID cards to borrow directly from other libraries in the University of Houston system.

How to Request an Intercampus Loan to UHCL

  1. Find the item you want in OneSearch.
  2. Sign in
  3. Click the Request button.
  4. Select the library where you wish to pick up the item.
  5. Click Send Request.

You will be notified via email when the item has arrived at the selected campus.

Items not picked up within one week from date of arrival at the selected campus will be sent back to their home libraries.

Note: Intercampus loans are not available for TexShare borrowers or students in the Hawk Connection program.

Interlibrary Loan Services

If no University of Houston library has the item you need, you may submit an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request.  UHCL Library will attempt to acquire the item from another library.  ILL requests may be made for both books and articles.

Interlibrary Loan is available for all UHCL students, faculty, and staff who have no current overdues or fines.  If you are affiliated with another UH campus, or another college or university, please use the ILL services at your home campus' library.

Titles that are prescribed as course textbooks at UHCL are not available for ILL.

ILL requests are made through ILLiad. To learn more and to access ILLiad, visit our ILLiad Guide.

Note: Interlibrary loan is not available for TexShare borrowers, community borrowers, alumni, or students in the Hawk Connection program.
