Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS) is a document delivery service designed to give UHCL faculty quick and easy access to a curated list of journal titles that is revised annually by library staff. Approved users currently have immediate access to more than 1,800 journal titles from a variety of publishers, including Emerald, Taylor and Francis, Sage, and Wiley. This curated list lets approved users bypass the embargoes that often accompany recently published articles, as well as facilitating access to journal titles that are not part of the library's current subscriptions.
While AGS allows faster access to requested materials, it is not intended to be a full replacement for traditional Interlibrary Loan services. Fulfilling a request via AGS generally costs more for the library, so it should be used when there is an immediate need. For requests that are not time-sensitive, please use interlibrary loan.
Note: UHCL faculty have 30 days to download the PDF from the link they will receive from Article Galaxy Scholar. The link can only be clicked twice after its delivery. If the file is not saved after the second click, please contact customersupport@reprintsdesk.com with the order number. AGS staff will provide a copy of the original request.
Other UHCL patrons can still use AGS to access open-access articles or to locate articles that can be requested via interlibrary loan (ILL). AGS will automatically auto-populate some of the article's data to the ILL request form.
If you have any questions or concerns about AGS, please contact the UHCL Interlibrary Loan department via email or phone.
In OneSearch, type in the keywords or subject headings related to your research topic. Using the filters on the left side, refine your search by selecting Expanding my results and selecting Articles as the Resource Type.
This will refine your search to all journal articles related to your research topic available via AGS as either Open Access or an AGS purchase.
Articles available via AGS will be displayed as No Online Access.
To see the AGS request form, please sign in to Primo. Once you sign in, the AGS link will appear.
Selecting the AGS link will prompt you to the following screen where you will be able to request the article via Article Galaxy Scholar or be rerouted to the Interlibrary Loan request form.
Once the purchase is approved, you will receive an email from customersupport@reprintsdesk.com with the download link. Most articles are delivered within a few hours, but the delivery time will vary.
You have 30 days to download the PDF, and the link can only be clicked twice after its delivery. Please save the article to your preferred personal device following its delivery.
If the you clicked the link twice and forgot to save a copy of the article, please contact customerservice@reprintsdesk.com with the order number for another copy of the PDF. Otherwise, you will receive the following message each time you click on the original link.
