Open Educational Resources (OER)

Pilot OER Grant Program

These grants support the adoption, adaptation, or creation of open educational resources (OER) as the primary textbooks in a single course or in multiple sections of a course.

3 applicants are required for group grants. We encourage department-wide applications for higher impact. Larger amounts for large groups will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility

• Open to all UHCL faculty
• Applicants must be the instructor of record for the course

Selection

The following criteria will be used in selecting awardees and determining award amounts:

• Students impacted – projected enrollment and frequency of course(s) taught
• Projected student savings
• Feasibility of successful implementation of the plan

Additional considerations:

• Type of project – those requiring modification/creation of OER may receive higher funding
• Individuals versus groups – group applications may receive higher funding
• Overall quality and clarity of application
