About the XR Lab

The extended reality (XR) Lab at University of Houston - Clear Lake's Neumann Library is an immersive opportunity for students and faculty to discover and engage with virtual reality technology. The XR Lab provides an equitable opportunity for students and faculty to engage with VR technology while inspiring learning and innovation. Extended reality (XR) is an overarching term to describe augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies.

  • AR consists of graphics being superimposed on top of the real world
  • VR puts the user into a fully immersive environment
  • MR is a combination of AR and VR
