Reference, Dictionaries, and Quick Facts: Print Reference Collection

Some reference books are kept at the Research Desk on the library's main floor. These include:

  • style/publication manuals (APA, MLA, etc.)
  • selected almanacs, directories, and dictionaries

The majority of the print reference collection is in the main floor Reference Area and includes:

  • U.S. and Texas law resources
  • demographic and financial yearbooks
  • subject encyclopedias, handbooks, and dictionaries

The Reference Area is arranged by Library of Congress classification, which groups together works on the same subject:

C  Auxiliary sciences of history
D  World history and history of Europe, Asia, Africa, Austalia, New Zealand, etc.
E  History of the Americas
F  History of the Americas
